The Brownwood Lions dropped to 0-8 in District 8-3A action and 0-23 for the season with a 62-37 loss to Llano Tuesday night at Warren Gym.

The Lions trailed 11-8 after one period and 32-26 at halftime, but managed just 11 points in the second half.

“We played about as good as we could for two and a half quarters,” said Lions head coach Josh Alcorn. “I was proud of the kids for coming out and executing offensively and defensively early, especially in the second quarter with 18 points.”

Trailing 44-32 heading to the fourth period, the Lions surrendered the first 11 points of the quarter before lighting up the scoreboard.

Hayden Day finished with 13 points for the Lions trailed by six each from Tyler Jackson and Tanner Donathon and two points apiece from Rosavelt Duffie, Cory Richardson, Kye Healer, Mason Cabaniss, Colt Garrett and Cody Richardson.

The Lions will host Burnet at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
