AY — Trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, and down by 10 at halftime, the Brookesmith Lady Mustangs stormed back to oust the Blanket Lady Tigers, 57-43, in Class A Division II Region II bi-district playoff action Wednesday night.

Brookesmith (20-6) scored 29 of its points in the fourth quarter alone, limiting Blanket (10-13) to just eight points over the same eight-minute stretch. The Lady Mustangs had trailed 12-7 after one quarter, 26-16 at intermission and 35-28 going to the fourth period.

Ashtin Farrow tallied 15 points to pace Brookesmith trailed by 14 from Shyan Seamans, who both fouled out. Nicole Allgood and Heather Allgood each added 12 points and two points apiece came from Jessie Harris and Keelee Heard.

Blanket, which had four players foul out, was led by 12 points apiece from Siera Tippie, Briana Wilson and Ryann Jameson, three from Hailee Musick, two from Kanya Johnson and one point each from Ashlie Larance and Mattie Cowdery.

The Lady Mustangs, who trailed 22-9 midway through the second period, finally drew even at 35 with 6:41 remaining in the contest. Trailing 37-36 with 5:26 to go, Nicole Allgood knocked down a three-pointer that put Brookesmith in front for good, 39-37, and triggered a 13-1 Lady Mustang run.

The Lady Tigers closed the gap to 49-43 with 2:04 remaining on a bucket by Wilson, but Brookesmith chalked up the final eight points of the night to advance to the second round.
