Courtney Polaski was born on July 11, 1980, in Brownwood, Texas, and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1998. After graduating she moved to San Antonio, but had lived in Ozark, Ark., for the past 13 years. She attended cosmetology school and worked successfully as a nail tech in Ozark for 10 years working alongside her mother who was a salon owner in Ozark for a number of years. Courtney is remembered by her family as fun-loving and creative. She had a passion for music, and wrote beautiful poetry, made unique jewelry, and loved to put together custom crafts for those she loved. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing with her two daughters who were the loves of her life. One of her favorite things to do, besides being a mother, was spending time with her nieces and nephew, children of her brother. She loved to make them laugh, and they loved their Aunt Court. She had a big heart and loved her friends and family with everything she had.
She passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at 33 years of age having moved back to Brownwood approximately five months ago.
She is survived by two daughter, Aunika Catlett, 14, and Aliyah Elmore, 9; her mother, Paula Minor of Ozark, Ark.; her father and step-mother, Steve and Pam Polaski of Brownwood; four brothers, Landry, Jay, Cameron, and Logan Polaski all of Brownwood; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Maxine Polaski; and maternal grandmother, Billie Sawyers of Lubbock. She is also survived by three nieces, one nephew, lots of cousins, aunts and uncles, and many many friends.
She will be greatly missed, but she has found freedom and peace in Jesus Christ and her family takes comfort in knowing that they will be reunited in Heaven with her someday.
