A memorial service for Sherry Ann Hagood, 60, of Brownwood will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Terry Simmons officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Hagood passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth.
Sherry Ann Pierce was born April 21, 1953, to Billie Pierce and Verda Allen Pierce at Medical Hearts Hospital in Brownwood, Texas. Brownwood was always her home with the exception of the periods she lived in Abilene and Lubbock, where she attended Lubbock High School. In her younger years she had worked as a sales clerk in various stores in Brownwood and Early.
On Feb. 19, 1998, she was married to Rocklin “Rocky” Hagood and together, they made their home in Brownwood. Sherry loved to read and listen to music. She also enjoyed doing things with her hands such as sewing, macramé, nurturing her plants and tending her garden, until she was no longer able to do so. One of her favorite pastimes was riding around in the country, just admiring the scenery and the beauty that surrounded her. Sherry loved visiting with friends and family and always had a welcome smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Rocky Hagood; three children, Eugena Vicors, Kacey Coker and Brody Coker; sister, Linda Hammonds; brother, Nick Slatton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends and family members are invited and encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.nethertonfuneralhome.com.
