COMANCHE — Misael “Al” Collins, age 55, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on April 1, 1958, in Baja, Calif., to Oscar and Maria (Amao) Collins. In 1980 he was married to Lydia Chapa in Reno, Nevada. On Aug. 8, 1998, he was united in marriage to Barbara McCain in Mt. Vernon, Wash.. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Al was a self-employed yard man. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Collins of Comanche; two sons, Misael Collins Jr., and wife Merlinda of Comanche, and David Collins and wife Karla of Woodland, Calif.; two daughters, Veronica Berrones and Husband Junior of Porterville, Calif., and Crystal Collins of Porterville, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; mother, Maria Collins of Madison, Calif.; former wife, Lydia Gilmore and husband Jerry of Porterville, Calif.; three brothers, Joel Collins and wife Trudy of Oregon, Oscar Collins of Madison Calif., and Sam Collins of Oregon; two sisters, Chayito Collins of Madison, Calif., and Rachael Santiago of Madison, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Collins; and sister, Ruthie Collins.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Comanche Funeral Home. Lunch for the family will follow the services Thursday at 805 Green Street in Comanche.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Van Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Comanche Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
