The Brownwood Lions wrapped up the first half of District 34-4A soccer action with their fourth straight victory, a 6-0 decision over the Lorena Leopards Tuesday night at Gordon Wood Stadium.

Scoring goals for the Lions (8-5-2, 4-1) were Austin Snyder, Dylan Person, Matthew Pickard, Aaron Jimenez, Daniel Martinez and Abraham Oviedo.

The Lions will attempt to avenge their only loss in district competition when they visit Gatesville at 7:30 p.m. Friday to open the second half of 34-4A action.

Lady Lions 2, Lorena 1 (OT)

For the fourth straight game, the Brownwood Lady Lions played in a contest that went longer than regulation. And for the second game in a row, the Lady Lions claimed an overtime victory as they downed Lorena, 2-1, Tuesday at Gordon Wood Stadium.

The Lady Lions (9-4-2, 4-1) scored in regulation on a goal from 30 yards out by Jennifer Martinez. In the overtime session, Kayli Waddle assisted Tristan Escamilla on the game-winner.

The Lady Lions will begin the second half of District 34-4A action at 5:30 p.m. at Gatesville, which they have already defeated.
