Jesse Solis, former resident of Brownwood, Texas, died Monday, Feb 17, 2014, at the age of 78 yrs.

He was born in Manor, Texas, to Juan and Mary Solis, but was raised by his mother and step-father Martin B. Perez. Jesse graduated from Brownwood High School where he was very active in sports, but loved football best of all. After graduation he spent four years in the Marines Corp, serving some time in Korea. Jesse was a Merchant Marine for many years and traveled the world. He was a union representative for the Sea fares union until he retired. He resided in San Pedro, Calf., until his death.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Curtis and Michael Solis.

Jesse is survived by his loving children, Toni and Charles Hawkins, Jesse Solis, Teresa and David Samples, and Stacia Solis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Mary Louise Rodriguez of Brownwood, Texas, Martin and Melinda Perez of Abilene, Texas, Delores and Juan Ramirez, and Marcos and Sandra Perez of San Angelo, Texas, John and Ada Perez of Duncanville, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the Green Hill Mortuary-Villetta Room with a chapel service held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at at Green Hill Memorial Chapel followed by interment.
