BELTON — Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Rebekah Ragsdale tossed a five-inning no-hitter as the Howard Payne Lady Jackets were run-ruled, 9-0, Friday night in the first of three American Southwest Conference games this weekend.

Howard Payne’s (2-6, 1-3)only base runners were Amanda Gober, who walked with one out in the fourth inning, and Pricilla Patino, who immediately followed by reaching on an error.

Ragsdale got out of the inning with a ground out and one of her six strikeouts.

Tayler Rushing started in the circle for HPU and lasted four innings, yielding eight runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and three walks.

Morgan Ashmore came on in relief and gave up one run on three hits.

UMHB’s (2-5, 1-3) Leah Brown finished 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored.

The final two games of the series begin at noon today.
