PLANO — The Brownwood Lions were dealt a pair of losses at the Prestonwood Christian Academy tournament Friday, falling to Fort Worth THESA, 3-0, and Dallas Bishop Lynch, 9-2.
In the loss to THESA, the Lions were limited to four hits — two by Cojo Guidry and one apiece by Kory Owen and Carson Cloy.
Owen and Bradly Durand pitched for Brownwood, which allowed all three runs in the third inning — two on an error and one on a base hit.
Against Bishop Lynch, the Lions surrendered the first five runs before striking for two in the fifth.
Elijah Salazar singled, Seth Owen doubled and Guidry was hit by a pitch the load the bases. Salazar then scored on a wild pitch and Owen came home when Hayden Day reached on an error.
Bishop Lynch added four runs in the bottom of the fifth, where the game was called due to time limit.
Justin Osteen and Tristan Chesser pitched for the Lions.
Brownwood (1-3) will close the tournament against Plano John Paul II at 12:15 p.m. today.
