The Brownwood Lions ‘A’ team fired a 344 to place fourth at the boys portion of the Bluebonnet Invitational golf tournament Tuesday at the Brownwood Country Club, while the Lions ‘B’ team posted a composite score of 423.
Leading the way for the Lions ‘A’ team was Michael Hemm with a round of 82 followed by Miller Baugh with an 84, Daniel Zilinski with an 87, Kaimon Ontiveros with a 91 and Grant Lewis with a 95.
For the Lions ‘B’ team, Westin Kirbo carded a 101 trailed by Colt Bertrand with a 102, Ben McCoy with a 108, Timothy Murray with a 112 and Dalton Simmons with 123.
Matthew Denson competed as a medalist for Brownwood and posted a 122.
Bangs, with a team tally of 423, and Early, which shot a composite 434, also took part in Tuesday’s action.
Competing for the Dragons were Josh Truelove (87), Robert Richardson (111), Chane Burton (112), Kyler Mitchell (113) and Tyler Smith (123).
The Longhorns were led by a 76 from Bubba Reno followed by a 110 from Charlie Tongate, a 116 from Collin Phillips, a 132 from Alex Hamilton and a 133 from Cody Morris.
Overall, Gatesville placed first as a team with a 319 total followed by Copperas Cove (320) and Liberty Hill (332).
Top individuals were Drew Dewald of Copperas Cove (69), Blake Elliot of Liberty Hill (71) and Zane Washburn of Gatesville (74).
