Brownwood police sent out an "attempt to locate" to surrounding agencies after a woman was stabbed in one of her forearms following a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning.

Police arrived at 3:41 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of Third and learned the suspect fled in a pickup driven by another woman. The injured woman told police she thought he was headed for Waco because he has friends there, police said.

Guardian EMS transported the woman to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room, where police spoke further with her. The woman said she and her husband were at another woman's apartment for most of the night doing laundry, and her husband became angry.

As the woman tried to leave, she told police, her husband followed her into the parking lot and brandished a large Bowie knife which he often carries. The man flung his arms wildly knocking the woman to the ground, and then fled with the other woman, police were told.

The injured woman didn't know she'd been stabbed until she got up and saw blood on her arm.
