E L I G I B I L I T Y
Open to all Texas residents 18 and older. Entries must have been completed in the last three years and not previously exhibited in a Stars of Texas Art Exhibit. Work must be original and not done under supervision. NOTE: Acceptance of artwork will be at the sole discretion of the committee.
All 2D works must be in one of the following categories: fine art photography, oil, pastel, watermedia or mixed media painting, drawing, hand-pulled graphics. Work must be completely dry, framed and wired for hanging. No sawtooth hangers. Framed size: no larger than 54 inches in either direction and no smaller than 8 x 10 inches. Photographs must be matted.
3D works are limited to 60 inches in height and 36 inches in width. 3D artists must provide their own display stands for judging and display.
Very fragile/valuable works may not be suitable for this show, including all glass, which will not be accepted unless enclosed and secured in plexiglass containers.
The non-refundable $15 entry fee must be paid upon delivery for each artwork. Make checks payable to Arts Council of Brownwood. Limited to a total of three entries.

Denny Pickett has been a member of the art faculties of Baylor, Mary Hardin Baylor, Midland and Temple Colleges and is currently a lecturer at Baylor. He holds a BA degree from South-western, an MFA from Texas Tech and has done post grad work at the Univ. of Wisconsin. His recent solo exhibits include Temple College; Davis Gallery, Austin; Louisiana College; Concordia Univ., Austin; The Art Center, Waco, TX; Meredith Long and Co., Houston; and Texas A&M, College Station. He has also shown in group invitational exhibitions at Kansas State, Baylor, Meredith Long Gallery and Davis Gallery, Austin. Juried exhibits include the El Paso Arts Int’l; 20th Int’l Juried Competition, Meadows Gallery, UT-Tyler; 49th Delta Nat’l Exhibition, Little Rock, AR; Parkside Nat’l Small Print Competition, Parkside, IL; Biennial 600 Drawing, Amarillo Museum of Art; and Northwest New Mexico Arts Council Nat’l Juried Competition, Farmington. He was born in Austin and now lives in Granger, TX, where he serves as mayor. His most recent work explores the artist's relationship to the natural environment and is done primarily on location in a limited palette.
Entries must be delivered to the Depot Civic and Cultural Center on Friday, January 25, 5 - 7 pm or Saturday, January 26, 9 am - 12 noon
Entries will first be judged for acceptance and then for awards. Accepted works must remain for the duration of the show.

All art must be for sale. All sales will be handled through the Arts Council of Brownwood. A 25% donation is required for sales generated by the exhibition.
The Stars of Texas, Arts Council of Brownwood, and the Depot Civic and Cultural Center assume no liability for loss or damage to works of art in this exhibition. Although utmost care will be taken to prevent damage, theft, or loss, there can be no guarantee. Entry in the show constitutes agreement with all conditions in this prospectus.
