Lake Brownwood has a hundred miles of shoreline. It's not the biggest lake in the state, but it's big enough to get lost on, which may be exactly what you're looking for. Water-skiing, boating and just swimming around the docks and shoreline are favorites in the summertime. When it's too cool to be in the water, you'll find the fishermen and women on the water (in case you're wondering: crappie, bass, catfish and perch). There's plenty of room to camp, picnic, launch your boat and enjoy our beautiful lake. photo by Dumas Photography

Lake Brownwood Hosts Annual 4th of July Fireworks
Boats motor out at dusk. Families on blankets or lawn chairs spread out and cover the shoreline with picnic baskets, coolers, and excited children in constant movement. Everything stops and there are echos of oohs and aahs as the first booms of red, white, and blue appear over the Lake.
Patriotic music plays in synch as the fireworks spread further and further across the sky. Hearts and souls meet with genuine pride of country and warm fellowship among the hundreds of family, friends, and visitors enjoying the country's annual Birthday together on Lake Brownwood.
The people of Brownwood are patriotic, hard-working, and welcoming. Do not miss the fun of sharing any holiday with us at Lake Brownwood, whether you live around the corner or across the this great country.
