Community college students must have maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or above at the community college level. The Ruiz 4 Kids scholarship program is available to students in select high schools in specific geographic area where Ruiz Foods has manufacturing facilities - Denison, Dinuba/Tulare, California and Florence, South Carolina. More than 600 scholarship applications are received each year and reviewed by teams comprised of several dozen Ruiz Foods team members. In the past seven years, the non-profit group has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships. Money for the scholarships is raised by the annual Louis F. Ruiz Golf Invitational. This year’s tournament will be on April 4 at the Valley Oaks Golf Course in Visalia, California.
