Did you know we have music and potluck suppers twice a month at the Center? Bluegrass music is on the first Monday at 6 p.m. and Gospel music is on the third Monday at 6. Bring something yummy to eat and your instrument to jam on or just your voice to sing along. It’s free and it’s fun.

Our next dance will be Friday, March 10. Western Reunion will be performing. Doors open at 6 and cost is $5 at the door.

Winners of last week’s Bunco tournament were Betty Flanagan with the most Buncos, Louise McCoy with the most wins and Janet Stacy with the most losses. Others playing were: Carole Kofke, Caroline Abrego, Pat Thompson, Jackie Smith and Ann Parham.

Activities at the Citizen’s Center beginning March 6: Bluegrass/ potluck, Chess and Bingo on Monday, Treadway hearing screenings and wood carving on Tuesday; Bunco tournament, blood pressure screening by Glen Rose nursing & Rehab and Dollar General shopping on Wednesday; Chess and local grocery shopping on Thursday and  Friday night dance, Bingo and local grocery shopping on Friday.

Besides the scheduled activities, there are games, puzzles, Forty Two and visiting going on every day.  Don’t see it on the calendar? Make a suggestion; we’re always looking for new ideas.

If you know anyone who may need meals, transportation, an emergency response system, medical equipment, Food Stamps (SNAP) or Food Bank applications, utility assistance applications or any other senior oriented services, please call or come by the Center.

Remember that you don’t have to be a senior to come and enjoy all of our activities or eat lunch with us. You can go to our Facebook page “Somervell Citizens’ Center” for lots of pictures and the next day’s menu and scheduled events and don’t forget to “like” our page.
