A variety of weekend events are scheduled in Brown County. Among them are:

n Brownwood Amateur Radio Club SKYWARN Storm Spotting Training at HPU’s Newman Hall, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday

Ever wonder how to identify a severe storm? How do you know which ones might produce a tornado? The Brownwood Amateur Radio Club will cover topics like these at its Saturday-morning session at Howard Payne. Amateur radio clubs across the country have always been instrumental in spotting, tracking and reporting severe weather. As spring approaches, it’s always a good idea to know the signs and know what to do. The event is free and does not require advanced registration. Newman Hall is located at 809 Coggin Ave.

n Daddy Daughter Date Night at Chick-fil-A, 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday

It’s a special night for dads and daughters at the Heartland Mall Chick-fil-A. The restaurant will offer limo rides, a photo booth, dinner and dessert for $10 per person. With dressed-up servers and fancy date night menus, this chicken dinner will be enjoyed by all. Make sure there’s room for your family by reserving a spot in-store or by emailing cfaheartlandmall@gmail.com.

n Antigone Now at the Early High School SAC, 2:30 p.m. Sunday

The Early High School UIL One-Act Play team offers the second and final public performance of “Antigone Now” on Sunday afternoon. Set after the death of King Oedipus in ancient Thebes, the king’s sons battle over his throne and Antigone is left to pick up the pieces. Featuring Andie Contreras, Asa Welker and Maggie Yantis as Antigone, this is the last chance for the public to see “Antigone Now” before competition at Bangs High School on March 8. Tickets are available at the door for a suggested donation of $2, according to an EISD press release.
