Councilman Pete Crisp participated in the Texas Municipal League (TML) and Texas Association of Mayors, Council members and Commissioners' (TAMCC) Elected Officials' Conference in Allen, Texas.
The conference took place from Feb. 16 to 18 at Courtyard by Marriott Dallas - Allen with more than 200 elected officials from all over the state attending the three-day conference.
The conference provided elected city officials the opportunity to voluntarily enhance their knowledge of city government, sharpen their leadership skills and connect with elected officials from across Texas to discuss how other cities cope with similar governance and leadership challenges.
During this event, conference delegates attended educational sessions on topics that included leadership, crisis communication, community engagement, social media, municipal annexation, code enforcement and more. Attendees also participated in a Saturday morning legislative briefing where they discussed the city-related bills filed during the 2017 Texas Legislative Session.
The Texas Municipal League is a voluntary association of more than 1,150 Texas cities, which Alice, Texas is a member of the TML.
