Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF) announces its 2017 Special Grant Program, “Let’s Fix It Coastal Bend” a targeted spay and neuter program. The $250,000 grant is being awarded to nine Coastal Bend animal nonprofits through a reimbursable program to help provide free spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats on a first-come first serve basis. The surgeries will only be offered until grant funding is exhausted.

“The Coastal Bend Community Foundation is excited to offer this opportunity to area residents because of funds received from the Estates of Michele Kitrinas and Leslie Robertson specifically for animal projects,” said Karen Selim, CBCF President & CEO. “We hope this volume of pet sterilization will reduce shelter intake and euthanasia, and address health and safety concerns.”
