A variety of weekend events are scheduled in Brown County. Among them are:
n Wine tasting and pasta dinner at The Turtle Restaurant, Friday at 7 p.m.
The Turtle has partnered with two small Italian wineries, Ormanni and La Leccia, for a night of tasting and pasta. These Chianti wines come straight from Tuscany, and the winemakers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss their creations. Reservations are available online at www.theturtlerestaurant.com. Dinner and wine is $55 a person, plus tax and tip.
n That Crane Store grand opening, Saturday at 10 a.m.
That Crane store, a women’s clothing boutique, will have an all-day grand opening celebration at their new 112 W. Anderson location in Brownwood. With wine, mimosas, snacks, a $50 gift card giveaway, sales and gifts, the store aims to start off in style. While the store has been open for a few weeks, the celebration will be a chance to formally say hello to the Brownwood community.
n Taylor Shearer, Aspen Crouch and Hunter Cox concert at Brownwood Music, Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
These three Texas musicians will perform a Saturday-afternoon set for the Brownwood community. Shearer describes himself as a folk singer-songwriter, with influences from Ed Sheeran to The Lumineers. Come support these up-and-comers (and bring some lawn chairs, just in case). Brownwood Music is located at 201 W. Baker St.
