The March session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned two indictments for aggravated sexual assault of a child against a Brownwood man.
Blake Whitehead, 29, was indicted on a total of four counts — two per indictment — according to information from District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office.
Whitehead, who was arrested Jan. 25, is free on bonds totaling $200,000, Brown County Jail records state.
According to a complaint filed by sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Bird:
Bird began an investigation after a teen girl made an outcry to a family member that she and another girl were sexually assaulted by an older man.
The girls went to the man’s house earlier in January, where they watched movies, played basketball and watched movies, Bird’s report states. The girls returned to a home where one of the girls lives, snuck out a bedroom window later and went back to the man’s house, where sexual activity occurred.
Bird retrieved text messages from one of the girls’ phone that indicated a relationship between the girl and the man.
In an unrelated case, grand jurors returned forgery indictments against Reagan Burns, 40, and Lora Burns, 33.
The two were arrested in November 2016 on an allegation that they used two counterfeit $100 bills for small Walmart purchases, police said earlier.
    According to a police report:
Officer Robert Lehman was dispatched to Walmart, where an employee said two customers had entered the store and used the counterfeit $100 bills. They bought drinks at two registers, allegedly passing a counterfeit bill at each register, Lehman was told. Each person received $97.20 in change.
The employee directed Lehman to the two, and both admitted to coming into the store and making the purchases. Both said they were making the purchases for two other people and did not know the money was counterfeit.
