EARLY — Everybody get ready, and if you want food, come and get it.
That’s the message of Jim Maxwell, pastor of the Freedom Fellowship church, 1040 Early Blvd. in Early.
The church is sponsoring another community food giveaway from 9 a.m. to around 11 a.m. Saturday, and Maxwell expects a out 2,000 to 3,000 people to come through the line.
“Anybody that wants food, it’s free of charge,” Maxwell said. Donations will be accepted but not required, and anyone who wants to help serve should meet at the church at 8 a.m.
Vehicles will form a line at the church property and workers will load food into the vehicles, and will base the amount approximately on the family size of each vehicle.
The food has been delivered from Harvest House Ministries International of Cleburne, Maxwell said.
Freedom Fellowship sponsored its first food giveaway in June 2015, and Saturday’s giveaway is about the fifth one, he said.
“We’ve got a lot of people that really love to give — a church full of people that believe what Christianity is all about is being givers,” Maxwell said. “We’ve got access to a lot of food. We do this as often as we can, depending on supply.
“We never know what to expect, but we’ve got plenty of food for everybody, and all those that would like to have food, we ask no questions.”
