Update [5/16]: The Early Chamber of Commerce has announced that the tournament has been rescheduled for the weekend of June 10 because of the possibility of inclement weather.
The seventh annual Early Spring Swing golf tournament is coming this weekend to the Brownwood Country Club.
Presented by the Early Chamber of Commerce and the Early Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the event will feature a two-person low ball tournament on May 20 and 21, with welcome events on May 19. Event proceeds will benefit the Early Chamber of Commerce.
Early Chamber executive director Shelly Taff said interested golfers can contact Jimmy Tidwell with the Country Club at 325-646-1086 or firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. Taff said players who need hotels can contact her for special rates at email@example.com.
Registration is $250 per player.
The weekend will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with player registration and complimentary practice rounds. At 6 p.m. Friday, the club will host a welcome party for players.
Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served at the club on Saturday and Sunday, with a Saturday dinner for players and guests at 7 p.m. Following Sunday’s final round, prizes and payouts will be awarded.
The weekend will also include straightest drive and closest to the pin prizes. Players will be pre-flighted based on handicap.
“Rain or shine, we’re going to be there,” Taff said.
The Brownwood Country Club is located at 5875 County Rd. 225.
