The community paid its respects Monday to Brownwood police officer Bryan Greenrock, who was laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near May after a heavily attended funeral at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood.
Greenrock, 42, was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle traffic accident on U.S. Highway 183, six miles north of Early.
Law enforcement officers stood outside the church and saluted as other officers carried Greenrock’s casket to a hearse. Law enforcement vehicles led the funeral procession to Main Street, where the procession passed under a large American flag suspended by the Brownwood Fire Department’s aerial ladder truck at the bottom of the Truman Harlow Overpass.
Greenrock, a Brownwood native, graduated from May High School. He previously worked as a Brown County jailer and as a Coleman police officer before joining the Brownwood Police Department in 2013.
