Brownwood City Council members will consider taking action Tuesday related to the city’s plans to install splash pads at three city parks later this summer.
Council members will consider approving a contract for $31,341 with Innovative Surfaces of Texas for color surfacing the other three splash pads, which will be located at Trigg, Allcorn and Mayes city parks.
Council members will also consider approving a contract for $7,000 with Heart of Texas for a new baseball backstop and perimeter fence at Mayes Park in preparation for installation of a splash pad.
In other business Tuesday, council members will consider ratifying earlier action by the Brownwood Municipal Development District in approving a Building Improvement Incentive Grant of up to $20,000 to Academy Lanes.
Lee Baird, owner of Academy Lanes, applied for the grant, which will pay for renovations to “update and outdated bowling alley and will increase entertainment options for Brownwood citizens,” the agenda packet states.
The council meets at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 501 Center Ave.
