Brownwood police are investigating thefts of narcotics at a nursing home in which a former employee is alleged to have stolen the narcotics for personal use.
Police were dispatched Friday to the nursing home in the 1500 block of Indian Creek, a police report states. After officers spoke with several staff members, a report was generated for multiple counts of theft
ranging from Class B misdemeanor to state jail felony, along with obtaining a drug through a forged prescription.
The reporting employees detailed how a former employee stole
narcotics from several of the residents for personal use. The alleged thefts occurred over a short period of time.
In an unrelated incident, police were dispatched Friday to the 1000 block of Lackey on an assault call.
A man told police his roommate’s former boyfriend assaulted him with a hammer. The man sustained minimal injuries and declined transport to the hospital.
The reason for the assault is unknown. The suspect is known to the
victim and the investigation remains on-going.
In another unrelated incident, police made a traffic stop Saturday in the 500 block of Austin and saw items associated with the use and distribution of illegal narcotics in plan view.
Police arrested Stephanie Flores, 30, of Brownwood, on charges of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Flores was also charged with child endangerment because a 13-year-old relative was in the vehicle, police said.
