A brisket sale beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sarah’s Beauty Salon, 718 W. Commerce in Brownwood, will help fund Brownwood High School senior Erin Dyer’s ’s trip to New York City, where she been invited to cheer in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
    Erin has been selected to attend as an individual.
    Deliveries will be made to businesses. Orders need to be placed in advance by calling 325-200-8498.
    Prices are:
    • $3 for sausage wrap.
    • $5 for sausage wraps meal with chips and drink.
    • $3 for brisket sandwich.
    • $5 for brisket sandwich with chips and drinks.
    • $7 for brisket plates (brisket, beans, rice, potato salad, bread, drink).
    Hair cuts will be given for donations by a licensed cosmologist (first 10 only).
    A Yeti cooler will be raffled with tickets costing $5 each, or $20 for five tickets. The drawing for the raffle will be Nov. 15.
    Twenty dollar Chilis gift cards will also be raffled, with tickets costing $1 each.
    Erin also has a gofundme account, and another funds will be raised through the sale of T-shirts at Willi’s T’s.
    “I have been cheering and tumbling for over 10 years,” she said. “I have put in many hours of hard work. I am extremely dedicated and passionate about cheering.
    “Who would know that I have been selected to participate in the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. I will be attending as an individual who will be representing my hometown.”
    Erin said she’s been blessed that God has put awesome role models in her life. They have taught her to keep pushing herself and helped her understand no dream is unattainable, Erin said.
    “My coaches have instilled in me a hard work ethic,” Erin said. “My youth leader and family have taught me patience and humility, and to love and respect others.”
