A traffic stop for speeding in Brownwood Tuesday night led to the arrests of three people on drug charges and the seizure of illegal items including marijuana edibles, police said.
According to an email from Brownwood police:
Officer Jared Spohn of the Brownwood Police Department made a traffic stop at 7:13 p.m. in the 600 block of West Commerce after seeing a Honda Accord traveling at high speed.
As Spohn spoke with the car’s occupants, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana from the car.
Cpl. Brandon Miller arrived to assist and also smelled marijuana.
A search of the vehicle revealed several items of illegal substances which included marijuana edibles, marijuana extract and drug paraphernalia.     
Those arrested at the scene were Claudio Alberto Wong, 22, of Austin; Alyssa Michelle Rodriguez, 20, of Austin; and Marcos Ramos-Coronado, 19, of Dale.
All three were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
