A 39-year-old woman remained Monday in the Brown County Jail after an Early officer stopped the stolen vehicle the woman was driving, police said.
    Police contacted CPS to take possession of the woman’s two children, who were in the vehicle.
    Sylvia Vasquez was booked on a charge of unauthorized use of a a vehicle, jail records state.
    Officer Andre Smoot stopped the vehicle around 9:45 p.m. for  suspected DWI, police said. Smoot learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Austin and placed Vasquez under arrest.
    In an unrelated incident, officers responded Friday to the 100 block of Suttee Circle for a possible suicide attempt with a knife.     Upon arrival officers met with several individuals who said the victim was in the house. Officers checked on the victim and had Fire/EMS respond.
    The initial callers were gone when officers came out of the house. Officers learned one of those individuals was wanted on outstanding warrants.
    Lifeguard Ambulance transported the victim, and officers searched the area for the individuals who ran.
    Officers located their vehicle and stopped it on Morning Dove Drive. Officers searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine.
    Officers arrested Joe Cruz Alvarado, 32, and Lora Kay Burns, 34, both of Brownwood, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alvarado was also arrested on a motion to revile probation for theft of a firearm, jail records state.

• Animal complaint — fire department, owner located.
    • Suspicious — 200 block of Trailer Drive, vehicle at park. Located occupants, everything OK.
    • City ordinance violation — 700 block of Early Boulevard, burning inside city limits, fire extinguished.
    • Suspicious — 400 block of Early Boulevard, vehicle parked near business. Driver checked OK, moved along.
     • Possible DWI — vehicle traveling from Brownwood to  Early, unable to locate vehicle.

Thursday
    Dog attack — 200 block of Crescent, person attacked by three dogs, Fire/EMS en route. Dog owner located, citation given.
    • Theft — 400 block of Early Boulevard, car lot owner said a male and a female entered two car lots and and stole keys from two vehicles on lot. Female was located and arrested on warrants.
    • Reckless driver — East commerce going toward Early. Officer located vehicle and checked it out.
    • Welfare check — 100 block of Misty Lane, everything OK.
    • Reckless driver — Highway 183/FM 2126, vehicle swerving and hit the guardrail. DPS located vehicle.
    • Animal complainant  — 200 block of Salt Creek, dogs barking.
    • Juvenile problem — 100 block of Williams Drive. settled by separation.
    • Suspicious — 600 block of Longhorn, vehicle driving very slowly several times. Vehicle gone on officer’s arrival
    • Assault — 800 block of Early Boulevard, disturbance between male and female. Settled by separation.
     • Terroristic threat — 100 block of Sudderth, caller said she was threatened with a gun. No gun located, verbal argument.
