Cheers and shouts filled the Home Economics Building at the Brown County Youth Fair fashion show Tuesday night as the fair’s first-ever Princess and Junior Miss were crowned.

The coronations of Taylor Simpson, a fifth-grader with the Early 4-H as Princess, and Henslie Hohertz, a sixth-grader and also a member of the Early 4-H as Junior Miss, were among the highlights of a fashion show that dazzled and delighted a large audience.

Reigning Youth Fair Queen Tara Glasscock and the four queen candidates — Cheyenne Stroope, Jessica Armour, Anni Metcalfe and Courtney Jowers — were among the young women who modeled outfits.

Glasscock presented a dress designed by Kayleah Hall, a member of the Bangs 4-H who competed in the Senior Division. Hall was unable to attend the fashion show because she played in a basketball game as a Bangs Lady Dragon.

Hall was named grand champion of the Senior Division, and Hannah Hull, a member of the Early FFA, was named reserve grand champion of the Senior Division.

In the Intermediate Division, Lilly Brandstetter, a member of the Early FCCLA, was named grand champion, and Caleb Dennis — the only boy in the fashion show and a member of the Brownwood 4-H — was named reserve grand champion.

In the junior division, Aubrey Bishop of the Bangs 4-H was named grand champion and Cloey Petty, also of the Bangs 4-H, was named reserve grand champion.

Hannah Hull was named top model in the Senior Division, Lilly Brandstetter was named top model in the Intermediate and Taylor Simpson was named top model in the Junior Division.

Earlier Tuesday, the rabbit show began with judge Frank Farrow of Lufkin maintaining a lively pace.

Cheyenne Stroope, a member of the Brownwood FFA, won grand champion market rabbit, and Trever Wagner of the Bangs FFA won reserve grand champion.

Paislee Burney of the 4-H Rabbit Club was named grand champion in the meat doe division, and Jacklyn Lewis, also of the 4-H Rabbit Club, was named reserve grand champion.

In the meat buck division, Stormy Stringer, a member of the Bangs FFA, was named grand champion. Rylie Guerrero of the Bangs 4-H was named reserve grand champion.

Paislee Burney took the senior showmanship award, while Anna Woods of the May 4-H, was awarded junior showmanship.
