Madellyne Adams leads her grand champion market steer in the show arena Friday at the Brown County Youth Fair.


    Four days of judging at the Brown County Youth Fair ended Friday, and the fair is preparing for its grand finale Saturday: the Premium Sale, along with the crowning of the youth fair queen.
    The cattle show was the big draw Friday as Madellyne Adams of Brookesmith won grand champion for her market steer, and Ethan Sanchez of Bangs won reserve grand champion.
    Sanchez also won the junior showmanship award in the market steer division, and Ashtyn Adams — Madellyne’s younger sister — won junior showmanship.
    In the breeding heifer show, Maddison Moseley of Early won the grand champion award, and Hannah Deen of Brownwood took the reserve grand champion award.
    The horse show concluded the animal judging as Karly Harper of Brownwood won the champion mare award, and CarolAnn Hetzel of Brownwood won the reserve champion mare award.
    Erin Gotcher of Bangs won the champion gelding award, and Annie Metcalfe of May took reserve champion gelding.
    Karly Harper won the senior showmanship award, and Lillie Brandstetter of Early won junior showmanship.
    The events of Saturday, the fair’s final day, begin at 3 p.m. with the crowning of the youth fair queen, followed by the Premium Sale.
