A man and a woman working together were able to steal $1,700 from TexasBank Friday, Brownwood police said.
    According to an email from police:
    Officers were dispatched to the bank at 1:20 p.m. on a theft report. Officers learned a Hispanic male and a Hispanic female arrived at the bank at 11 a.m. with $4,000 in $100 denominations.
    The pair asked to exchange this money for smaller bills. During the transaction, the male distracted the teller and the female pocketed approximately $1,700 of the money that was intended to be given to the bank.
      The theft was discovered at the end of the clerk’s shift and reported to management.

    • Accident — 1700 block of Vine. Officer witnessed one-vehicle accident at 12:10 a.m. and arrested Morris Moore, 25, of Brownwood, on DWI charge.
    • Burglary of a building — 2200 block of Calvert.
    • Assault — 3500 block of First. Police were dispatched on a report of an unwanted person and arrested Scout Fragua, 18, of Brownwood, an an assault charge.
    • Terroristic threat — Brownwood Regional Medical Center. A man threatened a nurse and a police officer. Pedro Alonzo, 25, of Brownwood, was arrested on a charge of terroristic threat against peace officer.
    • Terroristic threat — 1500 block of Avenue A.
    • Theft — Walmart, man arrested on warrant and cited for theft.
    • Traffic stop, 200 block of West Commerce, arrested man on public intoxication charge.
    • Traffic stop — 200 block of West Commerce. David Ortiz, 30, of Bangs, arrested on DWI third or more charge.
    • Burglary — 1600 block of Sixth.
    • Criminal mischief — 2500 block of Fourth.

    • Theft — 200 block of North Fisk. A building owner posted a video of the theft of building supplies on social media Sunday, and citizens identified the suspect.
    Police interviewed the suspect and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
     • Theft — Walmart. A theft report night led to the arrest of a Brownwood man on a parole warrant and a possession of marijuana charge.
    Randy Alexander, 51, who is listed as homeless, was booked into the Brown County Jail on the charges, Brown County Jail records state. Police were dispatched to Walmart at 10:26 p.m. and located the suspect near the 500 block of West Commerce, police said.
