A Brownwood woman remained jailed Tuesday on an allegation that she assaulted two people with a machete Monday night.

Rebecca Bacon, 30, was booked into the Brown County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault against a family member with a deadly weapon, jail records state.
According to an email from Brownwood police:
Officers were dispatched at 9 p.m. to an apartment in the 1600 block of Avenue E, where a man said he lives in the apartment with Bacon, his girlfriend.
The man and another woman were standing outside the apartment when Bacon came outside and placed the blade of a machete against the other woman’s neck, police were told.
Bacon then swung the machete at the man, who was able to wrestle the weapon away, police were told. Both victims said Bacon was highly intoxicated.
Officers entered the apartment and located Bacon inside a bedroom.
