The June session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned two indictments for evading arrest and a third indictment for robbery against a Brownwood man.
The grand jury returned the indictments against Joseph Edwin Brandt, 38, records in the offices of District Attorney Micheal Murray and District Clerk Cheryl Jones state.
Brandt is accused in the robbery indictment of pushing a woman into a door and injuring her while committing a theft on Dec. 24, 2017.
Brandt is accused in the evading indictments of fleeing from a sheriff’s deputy and from a Brownwood police officer on Jan. 8, 2018.
In other indictments:
• A Walmart employee’s search for her stolen cell phone in March led police to a north Brownwood residence where five people and a juvenile were arrested on drug charges.
The grand jury returned indictments for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver against Taylor Shyann Watson, 19; Jarrod Logan Mata, 20; Valery Tenee Gandy, 17; Elijah Ray Jones, 21; and Zackery Lee Binion, 18.
• Nikita Marie Martinez, 20, was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Martinez is accused by indictment of assaulting a male with a beer bottle on May 13, causing multiple lacerations.
• Jeremy Ray Cundy, 46, of May, was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a father-son altercation. The father was hospitalized with non-life-threatening stab wounds.
