Sheriff’s deputies went to a Brownwood apartment Tuesday to serve a warrant on a 17-year-old male, and ended up seizing 1.5 grams of marijuana and more than 4 grams of THC “dab.”

Deputies arrested three people, including the 17-year-old, on felony drug charges.

Christian Carey, 17, Tyler Del Toro, 18 and Victor Rodriguez III, 19, were each charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana over 4 ounces under 5 pounds in a drug free zone, Brown County Jail records state.

According to an affidavit by sheriff’s investigator Robert Ramirez:

Deputies Valton Posey and Mike McCoy went to an apartment complex in the 4200 block of South U.S. 377 to serve a bond withdrawal warrant on Carey.

Carey opened the apartment door and the deputies smelled the odor of marijuana. The deputies arrested Carey on the warrant and asked Carey how much marijuana was present. “A little,” Carey replied.

The deputies were escorted to a bedroom where they located marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and also found Del Torro in the apartment. Rodriguez arrived later and said he lived there.

Ramirez obtained a search warrant and found high grade marijuana and THC “dab.”

Carey remained jailed Thursday in lieu of bonds totaling $45,000. Del Torro and Rodriguez are free on bonds totaling $26,500 and $25,000 respectively.
