Brownwood police responded Thursday night to Walmart on a report that a woman tried to leave the store with a grocery basket filled with items.

Police arrested Sabrina Gatlin, 35, of Brownwood, on charges of theft, possession of a controlled substance and having a prohibited substance in a correctional facility, Brown County Jail records state.

According to an email from Brownwood police:

Officers responded at 9:50 p.m. to Walmart and met with a loss prevention officer and the suspect, who ad tried to walk out without paying for $225 worth of items, police said.

Officers located more stolen property inside the suspect’s purse along along with several small baggies of suspected methamphetamine and prescription pills that did not belong to her.

While being processed into the Brown County Jail, another prescription pill was located in the woman’s clothing.

Alexander Martinez, 26, Brownwood, failure to appear, traffic warrant

Roston McClain, 18, Brownwood, possession of marijuana, harboring runaway child

Jessie Robles, 42, Brownwood, driving with invalid license
