Both Brownwood and May Independent School District’s boards of trustees could look much different following the November general election.

A majority of seats for both boards are available and candidates have just two weeks before the candidate filing deadline.

The seats available for the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees include: Place one, currently occupied by Michael Cloy, board president; place three, vice president Roderick B. James Sr.; place five, Codie Smith; place six, Lisa Fowler – board secretary; and place seven, currently filled by board parliamentarian Tim Jacobs.

Those seeking office in Brownwood have until 4:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20 to sign up for the election. Board packets are available at the BISD administrative office at 2707 Southside Drive in Brownwood.

May ISD will have four of seven seats up for grabs in the November election. Those looking to run can pick up their candidate packets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the May ISD Administrative Building at 3400 County Road 411 East in May. The filing deadline for the May election is 5 p.m. Aug. 20. Candidates have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 to withdraw from the election.

Early and Bangs each had their school board elections this past May.
