The Brownwood Ag Issues Forum team is currently preparing for its fall contest, and the team has chosen the wind energy controversy as its topic.

To fully investigate the pros and cons of this controversial topic, the team will hold a public forum at the Brownwood High School auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24.

All local elected officials will be invited and encouraged to attend.  However, the team hopes concerned members of the community will attend the forum and share their views, whether for or against.

The forum is open to the entire community and anyone from throughout the state who wants to make their opinions known.

The Ag Issues Forum team will use this forum to prepare its presentation of the pros and cons on wind energy. The presentation will be made to the Brownwood City Council, the Brown County Commissioners Court and other civic organizations.

Viewpoints are sought to help the team formulate its presentation and also to allow viewpoints to be heard in the community.

The team will make a presentation to any groups in the community in October. Contact Chelsea Wilson, ag-science instructor, at 210-219-0665 to arrange for a presentation.6:
