The annual community Christmas candlelight service to pray for local members of the military and their families will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, and the public is invited to attend.
The ceremony will be held at the Margaret and Stuart Coleman Plaza near the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.
“This will be a prayer service to pray for members of the United States Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard and their families, for world peace and those devastated by war,” said Joyce Leidig, one of the event’s organizers for the Military and Family Support Group in Brown County.
A volunteer community choir will also assemble prior to the meeting. Leidig said singers need only to arrive at the plaza by 5:15 p.m. for a short rehearsal.
“Candles will be available, but those attending will need to bring a lawn chair,” Leidig said.
Leaders of the ceremony and other information about the event will be announced in coming days.
