A drug task force investigation has led to the arrests of four people, including a man who drove his vehicle into a creek during a police pursuit Monday.
Gregory Vasquez, 38, and April Wooldridge, 28, both of Bangs, were arrested Saturday, authorities said.
They were arrested after agents with the West Central Texas Interlocal Crime Task Force, assisted by sheriff’s deputies, served a search warrant in Bangs, task force commander Billy Schat said.
He said agents developed information that led them to seek other suspects, and agencies including Early police and the sheriff’s office helped arrest them.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Aaron said law enforcement officials were watching for two vehicles that were expected to enter Brownwood through Early Monday afternoon.
Lawmen saw the two vehicles, and one of them, driven by Andrea Siller, 26, pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store, Aaron said. Siller was arrested.
The other vehicle, driven by Bobby Ray Diaz, 31, of Dallas, drove toward Coleman County. Officers tried to stop the vehicle in Santa Anna, but Diaz fled, Aaron said.
Diaz lost control of his vehicle and drove into a creek, then ran on foot, Aaron said. Officers set up a perimeter, and Diaz gave up from exhaustion, he said. Diaz was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and evading arrest with a vehicle, jail records state.
Diaz remained jailed Tuesday in lieu of bonds totaling $152,500.
Vasquez and Wooldridge were charged with two counts each of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Vasquez remained jailed T Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bonds, and Wooldridge is free on $100,000 bonds.
Siller was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and she remained jailed Tuesday in lieu of $20,000 bond.
Schat said the four are suspected as “individual traffickers,” and no other arrests are expected.
“It looks like we got the ones we needed,” he said.
