A Brownwood man was flown to a San Angelo hospital after he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday night, the Department of Public Safety said.
Dale Wayne Cantrell, 31, sustained head injuries in the 9:40 p.m. accident, which happened on FM 585 3.6 miles north of Bangs, the DPS said.
Trooper Martin Molotsky said Cantrell was flown by helicopter to Shannon Medical Center. The hospital did not have information on his condition Monday.
Cantrell was riding a 1982 Honda Gold Wing north at high speed when he passed a vehicle, then overtook another vehicle and had to move into the left lane to avoid rear-ending it, Molotsky said.
The motorcycle entered a curve to the left and skidded 325 feet. Cantrell, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off and landed on his head, Molotsky said.
