ZEPHYR ó A 65-year-old Zephyr man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on FM 590, 10 miles northeast of Zephyr, the Department of Public Safety said.
Neal McCluskey was dead at the scene of the accident, which is believed to have happened around 7:30 a.m., the DPS said.
There were no witnesses to the accident, which was discovered by another motorist, the DPS said.
McCluskey was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup northeast, and his truck went off the right side of the road on a curve to the left. He brought the truck back onto the road but went off the left side of the road and hit a tree, the DPS said.
Neighbors said McCluskey usually went for coffee in Comanche every morning and itís possible thatís where he was headed when the accident happened, the DPS said.
