Special to the Bulletin

The Brownwood Air Evac Lifeteam air ambulance crew recently hosted an open house and five-year anniversary celebration at the local crew quarters.

During the event many local residents along with emergency responders from all over the area came by to show their support. The visitors were offered brisket with all the trimmings, awarded numerous door prizes and were entertained by a video showing the Brownwood Air Evac Lifeteam crews in action over the past five years.

“This event gave us a perfect opportunity to share with the community what Air Evac does and how we work,” explained base paramedic supervisor Ron Meador. “It was also a great opportunity to discus our operation and our membership program to those in the community.”

The Brownwood Air Evac Lifeteam base, located on the campus of Brownwood Regional Medical Center, began operations in June of 2002 and serves hospitals and communities within a 70-mile radius.

“It has been a privilege to serve Brown and the surrounding counties for the past five years” states base nurse supervisor Mark Dent. “I am proud that I can give back to my community in this way.”

Air Evac operates over 70 bases in 12 states throughout the central United States. For more information about Air Evac Lifeteam, call 1-800-793-0010 or visit www.lifeteam.net.
