A Brownwood woman told police she tried to steal hair care products at Brookshire’s because she was starting a new job that day and needed to fix her hair, police said.

Diona Stanfill, 27, was booked into the Brown County Jail Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces and failure to identify as a fugitive, jail records state. She was also cited for Class C misdemeanor theft.

A woman was seen placing items in her purse, and she used a Lone Star Card to pay for other items, a report by officer Stephanie Morgan states.

The woman tried to take $19 worth of items consisting of cheese and hair care products, and initially gave a false name, Morgan’s report states. The woman has a warrant from New Mexico but authorities there will not extradite her, the report states.

In other incidents:

• Officer Brandon Arnold arrested Nicholas Goad, 20, of Marble Falls and Zachary McGuire, 20, of Brownwood on charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Arnold investigated a complaint of noise and alcohol consumption at an apartment in the 1500 block of Davis Lane at 12:17 a.m. Friday. Several minors were present, and they were issued citations for minor in possession. A man who said he’d given money to a stranger to buy alcohol was arrested, as well as the man who lives in the apartment, Arnold’s report states.

• Officer Mike Clark arrested Michael Marx, 41, of Brownwood on a charge of theft over $1,500 under $20,000 at Home Depot. A man entered through the contractor’s entrance, loaded construction material onto a cart and pushed it out the door, Clark’s report states.

• Officer James Fuller arrested April Phillips, 24, of Brownwood on an assault charge after a domestic dispute in the 1600 block of Avenue E.

• Officer Trey Weathermon arrested Mitchell Chapman, 31, of Brownwood on an assault charge after a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of Terrace.
