The Miniature Quilt Silent Auction had a total of 22 quilts for auction with the proceeds to be donated to the Relay for Life. This event raised a total of $422.50.
The guild also had a Charity Change Jar set up to collect money for the Toys for Kids Program in December, and $19.59 was collected.
The Brownwood Quilter’s Guild thanked the many volunteers of the guild — and members’ husbands — and businesses who helped make this event possible, specifically, Dr. Donald E. Locke from Waxahachie for providing the special exhibit, “The Supper Quilt;” the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce; the Early Chamber of Commerce; Mills County State Bank; Elliott Electric Supply; and the Brownwood Bulletin for coverage of our show.
The guild also thanked vendors at the show: Alton’s Sewing Center, Barb’s Quilt Nook, Bluebonnet Merchantile, Burns Scissor Sharpening, Kristin’s Quilting Treasures, Piece Keepers, Quilts with A Heart, Stitchin’ Collections, A Sewing Basket, Sunset Bluff Creations, and Zo-Ray Creations.
Approximately 650 attended the day-and-a-half event. Next year’s show will be held over the last weekend in April.
