Junior Class Duchess
The daughter of Shari and Gregg Speck of Early and John Skeen of Brownwood, Sydney Skeen has been a member of student council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and last year, while in FFA, she showed lambs.
This year, Sydney is active in Key Club and Family Career Community Leaders of America and continues to run cross country and varsity track and play varsity basketball.
She is also a varsity cheerleader. As a freshman member of the varsity track team, Sydney qualified for regionals in the high jump.
She attends Early First Baptist Church and last summer, helped as a volunteer for Vacation Bible School and collected goods for Hurricane Katrina victims.
She will be escorted by Kaleb Hopson at the pep rally, and by her father, John Skeen, Friday for the pre-game activities.
Sophomore Class Duchess
The daughter of Randy and DuAnn Jones of Early and Ladd Lawrence of Abilene, Laci Lawrence is starting her second year serving on the Early High School student council and is a Key Club member.
Last year, she was a member of the varsity cross country team, freshman basketball team and varsity track team.
This year, she will play JV basketball and run varsity track. This summer, she worked as a lifeguard at the Brownwood Country Club and as a summer volunteer for the American Red Cross.
She attends Early First Baptist Church. She will be escorted at the pep-rally by her stepfather, Coach Randy Jones, and for the Friday pre-game activities by her father, Ladd Lawrence.
Freshman Class Duchess
The daughter of Marla and Brad Winstead of Brownwood, Shandi Winstead served as student council president her eighth grade year and was a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
She was also elected class favorite and Miss EMS as an eighth-grader and made the A/B Honor Roll. She runs cross country and track, and plays basketball and softball.
This summer, her ASA softball team, “Reckless,” won nationals in Gasden, Ala.
