Two defendants in unrelated drug cases entered guilty pleas Monday in 35th District Court.

District Judge Steve Ellis approved a plea bargain and sentenced Ricardo Fuentes Jr. to 25 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Fuentes possessed methamphetamine on May 16, 2006, an indictment alleged.

Elias Partida also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and Ellis set sentencing for July 31.

Partida was not immediately sentenced because he entered an open plea, without benefit of a plea bargain, and a judge will hear testimony in a punishment hearing.

Partida possessed methamphetamine on May 16, 2006, an indictment alleged.
