A Brownwood woman remained in the Brown County Jail on drug charges Monday after police served a search warrant Friday and arrested her.

Delsie Darnell, 36, was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces in a drug free zone, jail records state.

Brownwood narcotics detective Bruce Spruill said police served a search warrant in the 200 block of Bluffview. Police found under a gram of methamphetamine and under 2 ounces of marijuana, and evidence including scales and packaging consistent with selling methamphetamine, Spruill said.

In other incidents:

Someone broke into an unoccupied home on County Road 551 and two inflatable beds. One of the beds had a slash mark and was ruined. Several empty soda cans were left, and graffiti was spray-painted on a backyard patio.

Brownwood officer Trey Weathermon was dispatched to Wal-Mart Sunday evening on a report that a shoplifter had been detained after trying to leave with a 12-pack of beer.

Weathermon arrested Frank Goins Jr., 45, who was operating a motorized wheelchair, on charges of theft under $50 and public intoxication, jail records state.

Someone took a 16-foot utility trailer from the site of a home remodeling project in the 1100 block of Durham.

Someone took a jacket, a watch, a home CD sound system and 12 DVD movies from a home in the 1800 block of Seventh.
