Randy Feight, chief of the Lake Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, helps direct traffic as fire trucks maneuver at the junction of county roads 154 and 154, on the edge of a large grass fire southeast of Bangs Tuesday afternoon. Numerous area fire departments, the Texas Forest Service and the American Red Cross were among agencies that responded. Just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Brownwood Fire Department and several Brown County volunteer fire departments were called to respond to a major fire near Gustine in Comanche County. It was reported that the town of Lamkin, located between Gustine and Hamilton, was evacuated as a result of the fire. Additional details about the fire were unavailable at press time.
