A 19-year-old Brownwood man was arrested on charges of possession of just over 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Thursday night.
Officer Brandon Arnold arrested Joseph Williams after the traffic stop at Coggin and 10th, shortly after 11 p.m., Arnold’s report states.
Arnold saw a man carrying what appeared to be a case of beer leave a residence in the 2000 block of Avenue D. The man drove away, and Arnold stopped him for making an improper turn, Arnold’s report states.
Arnold smelled alcohol after stopping the car, and he found baggies of marijuana in the vehicle, the report states.

A woman told police she allowed her ex-boyfriend into her apartment in the 300 block of Bluffview because he seemed calm, but he assaulted her after getting inside. She told police he has previously assaulted her. A man told police his wallet with $200 disappeared from his clothing which he left at poolside while he swam at the Camp Bowie pool. A Home Depot employee is suspected of stealing just under $500 worth of merchandise from the store. He told police he kept some of the merchandise but had his sister and daughter return some of the items for gift cards at Home Depots in other cities, police said. He said his sister and daughter were unaware the items were stolen. Early police arrested a 16-year-old girl on a public intoxication charge after she wandered into an unlocked duplex Thursday night, took a shower, wrapped herself up in a sheet and went to sleep.
