Early High School has made U.S. News and World Report’s 2007 list as a “Bronze” school.

Researchers evaluated 18,790 schools in 40 states and ranked the top 1,600 as Gold, Silver or Bronze. Many of the schools to make the list are considered “small schools.”

Blanket ISD, also in Brown County and smaller than Early, was also designated as a Bronze school.

The researchers, from the data research and analysis business, School Evaluation Services, used three variables to establish the rankings.

Those include:

How students performed on state tests (adjusted for student circumstances); How disadvantaged students performed; Success in providing college-level course work.
